Canvas
Navigate and organize your workspace on the infinite canvas.
The canvas is an infinite, zoomable 2D workspace. Everything in MadoHub lives on the canvas — tiles, frames, and connections.
Navigation
| Action | Input |
|---|---|
| Pan | Scroll wheel, or Space+drag, or middle-click drag |
| Zoom in | Cmd+Plus, or Ctrl+scroll up |
| Zoom out | Cmd+Minus, or Ctrl+scroll down |
| Reset zoom | Cmd+0 |
Zooming is cursor-centric — the canvas zooms toward your mouse position, not the center of the screen.
Zoom range
- Minimum: 0.33x (33%)
- Maximum: 1.0x (100%)
- Step: 5% per increment
A zoom indicator briefly appears at the top of the canvas after each zoom action.
Grid
The canvas has a 20px grid with major lines every 80px (4 grid units). All tile positions snap to the grid automatically when you drag or resize them.
Creating tiles
- Double-click on empty canvas — creates a terminal tile at that position.
- Cmd+Shift+P (command palette) → New Terminal / New Note / Open File — creates specific tile types. (Cmd+K opens the global search overlay instead.)
- Drag a file from the file tree or Finder onto the canvas — creates a code tile (or image tile for image files).
Tile interaction
- Drag the title bar to move a tile.
- Drag any edge or corner to resize.
- Click to focus a tile and bring it to front.
- All tiles have a minimum size of 200×150px.
Minimap
When you have frames on the canvas, a minimap appears in the top-left corner. It shows a scaled overview of all frames and your current viewport position.
- Hover to expand from a small circle (48px) to a full preview (220px).
- Click a frame in the minimap to jump to it with auto-zoom.
